The course gives 7.5 credits and is organised by KTH. The course will focus on traffic information systems and their
implementation. The main areas that will be addressed include:
1. Traffic data collection systems and technologies. Examples of systems in cities internationally.
2. Issues with generation of reliable traffic information and approaches.
3. Systems for traffic information dissemination. Examples from various countries, including the organizational and institutional arrangements.
4. Future directions in traffic information systems (vehicle to
infrastructure, vehicle-to-vehicle, etc). Review of European activities
in this area.
